Cindy Riker has asked this post be moved to the front page.
As of right now, there are no plans to have a Fun Day in 2010. We do not have anyone that has volunteered to be the chairperson. Anyone interested contact Graham Whipple, Lani White, Cheryl Gahn or Cindy Riker. |

If somebody would like to compose a compelling paragraph along with contact info I will put it in the Welcome box on the front page. _________________ Come spend some time at our place...

Rob, I tried to move this to the announcement boxes, front page, but don't think I was successful (or don't have that capability) _________________ Remember, half the people you know are below average. |

For whatever reason, I set the anouncements to pull from "The Test Drive" forum. I really need to spend some more time on this place... _________________ Come spend some time at our place...

Fun Day requires a lot of coordinated effort by a dedicated group of people. All the actions of the former group is written down in detail. If there is a group of people out there who wants to hold a Fun Day, I am sure that they can get their hands on the "recipe" for how it was done in the past, and the equipment for it is stored and ready to go. I do know that the months of April, May and June were spent preparing for the event. That event's profits was poured right back into the fire department equipment. Also a large check was donated to the township airport fund. Now look at the airport and the fire department. Nice.
So, if there is a group out there, full of energy, that wants to spend a few months in the spring preparing and conducting a Fun Day, instead of going about their normal activities, have at it.
Hats off to the Firefighters Association who did just that, for years and years. _________________ mwhite@wildblue.net

Just a reminder Mike...it was not just the firefighters... it was the Firefighters Association... not everyone was a firefighter. I, for one, worked on that association for a number of years and I was not a firefighter. |

I stand corrected and made that change to my original spiel. Thanks. _________________ mwhite@wildblue.net

The poll that I see is the Ice Cream Social. That is put on by the BBI Historical Society. They began to incorporate a flea market into it last year. Anyone who wants to get rid of stuff can set up their own table on the lawn and sell what they have. There is a cost of $10 to do it, but check with Betty Hutchinson, treasurer. That may have changed to just a donation of any amount.
Dan Reynolds has said that he would sing this summer at the Ice Cream Social.
Ice cream is given out for free, but donations are very welcome. As the name implies, it is for getting together and socializing, but also to help out the museum. Everyone come and yak it up.
