Found originally by Bruce McAfee. It appeared to be peeking out of a hole. I returned the following day and discovered that it was stuck, so I dug it out. A very lucky snake. It had been trapped since the storm of about a week ago in the roots of a blown over maple way back on the rail road grade. It has eight rattles.

While stuck, the snake would attempt to strike, but couldn't do it. As soon as he/she got loose, all it wanted to do was head for the woods. I took pictures of the snake stretched out heading for the woods, but it was hard to see the snake in the leaves.
